ACERTUS is the only tech-enabled automotive logistics company to move, store, recondition, title & register finished vehicles. As a Dispatch Manager, you will provide support to the Director of Operations by managing the local hub operations, local drive away operations, and overseeing projects. Your primary role is to manage the day-to-day responsibilities of dispatching for the Hub, while providing frequent and efficient communication with customers, drivers, and management.
Schedule: Monday -Friday 7am-5pm with evening and weekend hours as neededPay: $55,000 - $65,000/year based on experience.
What will you be doing?
- Oversee and manage drive away operations at the railyard for an OEM
- Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment, including coordination of facility and equipment repairs, and ensure all employees observe safe work practices at the hub.
- Ensure strict environmental standards are complied with and communicated to all hub employees and maintain all necessary permits.
- Manage and supervise assigned personnel at the hub, which includes but is not limited to staffing requirements, assigning, and determining workloads, establishing work schedules, monitoring work, evaluating performance, with a focus on the training, development, and involvement of employees.
- Plan, organize, coordinate, and implement all practices related to accurate and timely dispatch and pickup scheduling; coordinate and reconcile the weekly vehicle inventory at the hub.
- Coordinate and interact with customers, drivers, sales, logistics, dispatchers and other hub managers.
- Attend and participate in hub operations meetings.
- Assist in the development and maintain the hub's budget and be accountable for results based on defined KPI's.
- Support, demonstrate, and facilitate the concepts of continuous learning and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with external customers, marketing and internal customers.
- Must be willing and able to perform all other duties as assigned by management
What are we looking for?
- Bachelors degree in Business, Logistics, or similar field/work experience.
- 1-3 years in a supervisory position.
- Previous experience in logistics or transportation referred.
- Previous experience working with temp agencies preferred.
- Previous OEM experience preferred.
- Effective leadership, delegation, and team building skills; trustworthy and trusting of others.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to plan and prioritize daily duties to meet customer needs.
- Demonstrated strong self-starting traits, and ability to operate effectively with little or no direct supervision.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to make sound decisions when managing work activities.
- Flexibility and ability to adjust to changing priorities.
