Sr. Director, Software Engineering (Insurance)

This position plays a crucial role in shaping the software landscape to accelerate the deployment of next-generation core solutions, applications, and services, while integrating them with existing software products and services. The role involves close collaboration with product owners and engineering leads to speed up the development and adoption of RealPage PropertyOS products. The ideal candidate will have experience in building software teams, being a hands-on manager, and successfully leading a team to create an enterprise platform solution. This position reports directly to the VP of Engineering and involves developing and administering processes and standards in the assigned functional area. The role also includes managing all aspects of assigned projects from the development of the business case to Quality Assurance sign-off, including scheduling, resource management, platform definition, software development, testing, internal and end-user training, and supporting documentation. The position supervises a team of up to 7 employees/managers, overseeing their direction, coordination, and evaluation.
This role supports our insurance offerings for residents and property management companies. This role will involve collaboration with key stakeholders to develop and manage 12-month-plus strategic roadmaps. A strong emphasis will be placed on utilizing data-driven decision-making to enhance our services and overall effectiveness.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Consult with management to analyze potential projects, determine scope and priorities, and resolve customer issues.
  • Manage tasks and projects to schedule and budget.
  • Develop project milestones and plans.
  • Manage the development and implementation of technical and functional strategies within the group.
  • Contribute to and communicate the objectives and goals of the team.
  • Identify and direct process improvement activities.
  • Lead team members in technical analysis to translate requirements into software design.
  • Conduct in-process reviews.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of software products and systems.
  • Ensure unit test cases are generated and executed.
  • Manage relationships with different groups within RealPage to aid in the design and implementation of the system.
  • Negotiate with consultants, technical personnel, and vendors for services and products to support product development.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES


  • College degree in a computer-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of software-related industry experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience, must include offshore.
  • Strong analytical skills and reasoning ability.
  • Background in managing the development of products/systems on multiple platforms is a plus.
  • Experience with ASP.NET MVC, C#, SQL, XML, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS.
  • Demonstrated interest in, knowledge of, and enthusiasm for Internet technologies.
  • Flexible to work extended hours as needed, specifically during monthly release cycles. #LI-REMOTE #LI-JL1
