About the role:
We’re seeking a reporter to write about the giant pools of cash moving across the globe to fund the growth of artificial intelligence. The reporter will write about where the money is coming from and where it’s going to document this unprecedented moment in tech investing. Scoops are paramount. They will set the agenda and will feed into bigger stories about the players and their goals.The beat will require excellent sourcing and financial expertise. Stories will range from deal scoops to detailed analysis of investments to profiles of important players.
There will be an emphasis on new financial mechanisms and new sourcing of funding to finance multi-year, capital intensive projects.
What you'll do
- Regularly break news on deal talks, debt and equity funding and giant bets on new technologies
- Build sources and track investments by firms in public and private markets, including private equity and debt, sovereign wealth funds and rich people.
- Frequently collaborate with our team of tech and venture reporters
- Identify the biggest stories on the beat and the most important players
- Pitch and deliver high-impact features
Qualifications
- 4+ years as a business or finance reporter and a track record of breaking news in finance, business or tech
- Keen interest in tech industry trends and key players
- Proven experience of developing sources and producing scoops
- Background in international finance is a plus
- Vision for how to develop this beat
- Ability to work out of our New York office

This is a hybrid position based in New York, NY, and includes regular attendance in the office each week per your departmental guidance.Salary Range:
$130,000-$180,000
