Are you ready to lead design systems and operations initiatives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment?We're looking for a Design Manager to lead our horizontal design team in Barcelona, combining product design expertise with experience in product branding and delivering world-class design systems.If you're passionate about design systems, accessibility, innovative AI tooling, AI as a design material, strategic design leadership and operations, this role is perfect for you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO 🚀


  • Lead and inspire the talented AI, design system and content design team in the product organization to deliver human-centric designs that align with business objectives.
  • Report directly to the head of product design and collaborate closely with the head of engineering.
  • Be an ambassador for accessibility and component migration and drive adoption of our early-stage design system.
  • Integrate accessibility standards into our processes and establish guidelines and best practices that guide teams in designing and building products.
  • Work closely with product, design, marketing, and research peers to prioritize and manage research programs.
  • Lead the end-to-end design process, from value detection, discovery and ideation to implementation and delivery.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, researchers, and other stakeholders in a matrix organization to co-create a shared experience vision and strategy.
  • Champion design best practices and ensure high-quality outputs that meet user needs and drive business impact.
  • Nurture a culture of innovation, creativity, and collaboration within your team and across the organization.
  • Balance strategic thinking with hands-on design contributions to mentor your team and share your knowledge when needed.
  • Hire new talent.

Design Systems & Operations


  • Deliver a robust, scalable design language that includes design tokens, reusable components, and clear documentation to unify brand identity and customer experiences across all touchpoints.
  • Research and experiment with AI-driven design operations automation to streamline workflows, from component creation to usage analytics, enabling teams to innovate faster while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Embed accessibility best practices throughout the design system lifecycle, from initial component development to documentation and quality assurance.

Product brand alignment


  • Lead and mentor content designers to develop a unified tone of voice and messaging framework, ensuring alignment across all platforms and customer touchpoints.
  • Guide the creation and maintenance of cohesive iconography standards, empowering the team to align visuals with the brand identity while enhancing usability.
  • Oversee the development and evolution of a scalable color system, ensuring accessibility compliance and brand consistency across digital and physical experiences.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING 💥


  • A strong portfolio showcasing your leadership and design expertise.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in design with 10 years of work experience in a related field.
  • Experience in nurturing and coaching designers for professional growth.
  • Proven experience leading and managing remote/hybrid design teams successfully in tech start-ups and scale-up contexts.
  • Experience working with contemporary design and UX research tooling.
  • Experience managing organizational change with cross-functional peers.
  • A track record of shipping a public-facing design system and raising industry standards, delivering measurable results that are aligned with the product experience strategy.
  • Deep understanding of human-centered design processes and methodologies, with the ability to mentor and coach teams in applying them effectively.
  • Familiarity with working in a matrix organization, aligning multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience managing organizational change with cross-functional peers.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills to articulate strategic design decisions and lead a culture of innovation.

Nice to have


  • Solid understanding of computational principles (e.g., data structures), automation concepts, and automation workflows.
  • Experience designing easy-to-use products that simplify the workflows of complex automation processes.
