Lead QA Automation Engineer

Join us on our mission to reverse diabetes in 100 million people.We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to lead our testing initiatives, with an initial focus on our Mobile application. In this role, you will develop and maintain our automated testing framework, collaborate with engineering teams to improve test coverage, and establish best practices for quality assurance across our mobile and web applications. You’ll serve as the technical subject matter expert in testing automation, driving best practices and mentoring others on the quality process.
Responsibilities
- Create automated test for functional, regression, and end-to-end testing
- Develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for a React Native mobile application
- Monitor and report on key quality metrics and test results
- Document testing procedures, frameworks, and best practices
- Participate in code reviews with a focus on testability and quality
- Collaborate effectively with engineering partners to achieve quality objectives
- Mentor engineers on testing best practices
90 Day Plan
Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:
- Focus heavily on understanding the current state and start building relationships with the existing QA tester and engineering teams within the first 30 days.
- Set up the foundation for automation, including assessing the implementation of existing tools and proposing new tools, if necessary.
- Work on scaling the automation effort and ensuring sustainability through documentation and team consultation and collaboration.
Must-Haves
- 3+ years experience in QA automation with demonstrated experience with testing mobile applications, and a bonus if you have experience with React Native
- Experience with testing frameworks and cloud testing platforms
- Experience with CI/CD tools and practices
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and best practices
- Participate in engineering-wide standards review and implementation
- Proven track record of improving test coverage in web and mobile applications

Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. For this role, the compensation range is $145,000 - $165,000.
