About the team


Dialpad’s Product Engineering organization is responsible for building and maintaining the customer-facing features at scale across all of our cloud native products and services. Every day, millions of users across the world leverage our technology for communicating effectively and efficiently. Every engineer on our global engineering team is given the opportunity to take ownership of a large portion of the product where they’re able to see immediate results. Your role


Dialpad is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Frontend Engineer to join the growing team on a mission to build a new experience, reporting directly to the VP of Engineering. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong desire to deliver a high-quality, high-performance, scalable, frontend using modern technologies, willing to make an impact while contributing to a cross-functional team.This is a high-impact role directly representing significant contributions to Dialpad’s revenues and is of particular strategic importance.

This position reports to our VP of Engineering, who is based in North America, and is looking for the person to join the team in our Buenos Aires, Arg Office.

What you’ll do


  • Design and build amazing web experiences written in industrial, up-to-date frameworks such as Vue.js and TypeScript, in a secure, well-tested, and performant way.
  • Influence a long term technical vision for the web and desktop frontend clients, while defining steps to deliver value in shorter term phases.
  • Work closely with backend engineers to design and implement RESTful APIs and GraphQL schemas.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality products.
  • Build responsive composable UIs for all devices, screen sizes, and resolutions.
  • Plan and create reusable and modular components/micro-frontends that can be used across multiple products.
  • Craft clean, modular, and maintainable code using best practices.
  • Review technical designs to ensure features / products are well-integrated and fully meet business needs.
  • Consistently ship small features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members.
  • Pay close attention to detail and code quality to ensure that our web applications are performant, fast, and scalable.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and other team activities to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Perform unit and end-to-end testing.
  • Constantly optimize the architecture for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Ensure that features are shipped on-time and with the highest quality.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues with existing features, as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest frontend platform technologies and best practices, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our engineering processes and tools.
  • Ensure that features are shipped on-time and with the highest quality.
  • Mentor engineers and help them grow their skills, expertise, and technical responsibilities.
  • Continue contributing to fun projects meant to delight users!

Skills you’ll bring


  • 8+ years of experience in frontend software engineering.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent in experience.
  • Strong experience with Vue.js or another modern JavaScript web framework (React, Angular, Ember, etc.).
  • Strong experience using state management libraries: Vuex, Redux, Recoil, MobX.
  • Strong experience using Typescript and ES6.
  • Extensive knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Experience with building reusable and modular components.
  • Experience designing and building interactions that are fully accessible and comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standards.
  • Experience with writing automated tests with tools like Karma, Jasmine, Jest, Mocha, TestCafe, AVA, tape.
  • Attention to detail and ability to write clean, modular, and maintainable code.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and GraphQL schemas.
  • Experience with performance and optimization problems and a demonstrated ability to both diagnose and prevent them.
  • Experience building Progressive Web Apps (PWA).
  • Experience with highly agile and iterative development processes.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with mentoring engineers and helping them grow their skills.

Nice to have:


  • Experience with real-time communications standards (WebRTC, SIP, VoIP)
  • Experience with WebAssembly, Electron, Tauri, Webview2 etc

Our Tech Stacks: 

  • Vue.js/Pinia frontend running natively in Electron.
  • Java backend with RESTful interfaces, Postgres, Redis, Couchbase, Kafka, PHP, Web application containers like Tomcat.  Python backend on Google Cloud Platform (AppEngine, Datastore , BigQuery, Dataflow, Memcache, Cloud Tasks, Pub / Sub).
