Flexe.comThe Software Development Manager, Security & Infrastructure, is responsible for leading a team of software engineers to build scalable, flexible, and secure systems. You will own the hiring, coaching, and career development of your direct reports. You will own the technical vision and roadmap of the security engineering program and the broader infrastructure initiatives. You will work with a cross-functional team, including product management, project management, design, operations, business development, and executive teams, to bring ideas to market.

A successful candidate will bring expertise in building and leading security teams, managing compliance and security certifications, as well as hands-on experience with infrastructure management. Balancing security, infrastructure, and technical support priorities will be key to delivering secure, reliable, and scalable systems.

Job Responsibilities


[20%]  Hire, manage, and grow a software engineering team.[20%]  Work with product managers and company stakeholders in business and legal teams on strategy and roadmap development for Infosec tools, policies, and programs.[30%]  Work across engineering to make sure our software architecture is highly available and scalable, managing company-level security programs and driving compliance programs (SOC2, Risk Registry)[30%]  Promote best practices in software development life cycle (SDLC), security hygiene and secure data handling, and customer privacy compliance.

Promote best practices in software design, development, testing, and deployment.

Qualifications


Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of hands-on software development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in managing, mentoring, and leading software engineering teams. 
  • A proven track record of Infosec and/or compliance work and/or enterprise infrastructure in enterprise environments as an engineer, tech lead, or engineering manager.
  • Excellent software project management skills.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, both technical and non-technical.
  • Deep understanding of a broad range of Infosec best practices, threat management, Infosec certifications, security audits, and AAA (authentication, authorization, and accounting).
  • Proven track record with a Cloud Platform provider including, but not limited to, Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, or Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with monitoring, log management, and CI/CD tools for distributed systems.
  • Experience with or a desire to learn technologies such as Kubernetes, Istio, and Terraform while delivering risk-balanced solutions.
  • Strong quantitative data analysis and critical thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Startup and Supply Chain experience is a plus.
  • Warehouse Management System Experience

The salary range for this role is $175,500 to $246,900 depending, in part, on candidate location. Recruiting will confirm the specific range for the candidate location in the initial phone screen.
