*The position allows for hybrid work arrangements from the Austin, TX area and Mexico City when not traveling on assignment.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Travel Security Manager will deliver professional, unobtrusive, and low-profile security to the client, ensuring the well-being and physical safety of its traveling employees. This role is expected to conduct advance planning, threat assessment, and risk mitigation strategies to preemptively identify and respond to potential security threats to travelers in Central and South America. This role involves frequent travel, at times on short notice, to regions that may present unique challenges and risks.
The Travel Security Manager must be adaptable, resourceful, and committed to ensuring the safety of employees and operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct pre-travel security assessments, including on-site evaluations of hotels, accommodations, event venues, and meeting locations to ensure traveler safety and security
- Assess travel routes to identify potential risks and identify alternatives
- Evaluate the reliability and safety of local vendors and service providers, such as transportation companies and event venues
- Provide advance security planning and logistical support for large-scale events, including risk analysis and contingency planning
- Coordinate with local security teams, event organizers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless operations
- Identify and analyze security threats in high-risk areas and provide actionable recommendations to mitigate risks
- Develop comprehensive security reports and assessments outlining key findings and recommended safety measures
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, travel, HR, and security, to align on risk management strategies and processes
- Manage or contribute to projects that enhance security protocols and systems across the organization
- Stay informed on regional security trends, political climates, and emerging risks in Central and South America
- Update and refine organizational policies, procedures, and guidelines based on findings and best practices
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of equivalent Law Enforcement or Military experience with travel to and conduct of security assessments in high-risk locations
- Fluency in both English and Spanish, with excellent written communication skills
- Operational experience in similar physical security roles, preferably with a corporation in the tech industry
- Strong knowledge of security protocols, risk assessment methodologies, and safety practices in Central and South America
- Proven ability to work independently in dynamic environments
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in project management and cross-functional collaboration
- Emotional intelligence and a customer-focused approach
- High ethical standards with proven ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information, excellent judgment, discretion, and diplomacy
- Ability to travel 50-75% of the time
- This is a full-time position that will provide advance travel security services, as required, and with some last-minute requests. This role may require day, evening, and nighttime coverage, including occasional coverage of weekends and holidays, as necessary.
