We are currently seeking a dedicated Application Support Engineer for our Edmonton location.

This role is responsible for providing technical support for the Regional Smart Fare System (RSFS) across Edmonton. The successful candidate will act as a liaison between the development team and users, ensuring that issues are resolved promptly and efficiently via maintenance, support and product configuration.
The Application Support Engineer will monitor the RSFS Product performance, troubleshoot issues, and support software deployments. This position is crucial in maintaining excellent service standards and improving user satisfaction. The role may involve some on-call support as needed to address urgent application-related issues.

This is an on-site, permanent role that will require some attendance at customer locations as required. An on-call component is also part of the attendance pattern.Eligibility to undertake this role is restricted to citizens and permanent residents of Canada with the ability to work full time.


What You'll Need To Be Successful:


Essential:


  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related technical diploma
  • 3 years + experience in a fast paced QA environment
  • Experience with G-Suite apps
  • Working experience with server, network and storage infrastructure supporting bespoke applications
  • Understanding of application architecture relationship to database, logs, file and operating systems
  • Experience in Enterprise level systems maintenance
  • Proven ability to create and maintain project test plans and both hardware and software test scenarios
  • Experience with automated and manual testing (scripting, UAT, reporting)
  • Professional composure and focus - exemplary organisation, analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a range of customers, adept in conflict resolution
  • Attention to detail, including demonstrated integrity and awareness of confidentiality requirements
  • Coordinate and prioritise troubleshooting and functional requirements to effective resolution
  • Flexibility to work outside shift patterns if required

Desirable:


  • Effective operator in a change driven environment
  • Multilingual
  • Scripting experience (C#, Powershell, Python)
  • Working knowledge of AWS
  • exposure to ITIL frameworks (Foundations or above)
