About the team
As the Senior Atlassian Administrator, you will be responsible for driving improvements in the processes and technologies utilized at HashiCorp. Jira is a strategic platform and application used by most teams across HashiCorp and you will play a crucial role in how the platform is used across the organization. You will be responsible for front-end configurations, implementing customization, evaluating, implementing and managing plug-ins, integrations, and for being a go-to source for all Jira related questions and tasks.
You will be a key partner and SME working with internal TPMs and Jira SME's across the organization to align Jira to our SDLC and best practices. You are naturally curious and like to solve problems. You are customer-centric.
What you’ll do
- Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Jira cloud instances, and other Atlassian products including: Confluence, Access/Guard, Product Discovery, and various plugins
- Drive innovation on how work is performed using Jira
- Create custom Jira projects, complex workflows and permission schemes
- Create standard operating procedure documentation
- Provide formal and informal training to Jira users
- Identify, test and recommend new plugins to meet project requirements
- Define access permission schemes for HashiCorp users
- Align Jira with TPM processes and standards (Waterfall, Agile and Kanban)
- Troubleshoot application issues and add-on integration issues in Jira and Confluence working with Atlassian support
- Participate in requirements gathering for business processes, and determine ways to optimize/improve Jira setup and workflows, as well as identify where functionality can/cannot meet user requests
- Develop metrics dashboards and advanced filters in Jira to provide end-users and business leadership with meaningful operational/performance metrics and status reports
- Provide User Management and support for users, manage system access across groups to ensure compliance, and maintain best practices
- Create and manage security schemes, custom fields and configurations
- Install, manage and administer Jira add-ons, plugins, and extensions
- Providing assistance in the management and support of integrations between tools in the development landscape, including: Jira, Confluence, Access, GitHub, etc.
What you’ll need
- 5+ years of relevant experience as a Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management and Jira Product Discovery Administrator
- 3+ years of relevant experience as an Atlassian Cloud Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, and Jira Product Discovery is mandatory
- Relevant experience in Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management and Jira Product Discovery administration, including user management, permissions, and workflows
- Experience with development, including JQL, REST APIs, Groovy Scripting
- Experience with Jira and Confluence plugins and add-ons
- Ability to provide training and support to users with varying levels of technical proficiency
- Experience with various plugins such as Scriptrunner, Rich Filters and easyBI etc.
- Experience with Forge Development

#LI-Remote Individual pay within the range will be determined based on job related-factors such as skills, experience, and education or training.The base pay range for this role in the SF Bay Area / NYC area is:$127,500—$150,000 USDThe base pay range for this role in California (excluding SF Bay Area), New York (excluding NYC), Seattle Metro, Denver / Boulder Metro, Washington D.C., or Maryland is:$116,900—$137,500 USDThe base pay range for this role in Colorado (excluding Denver / Boulder Metro), Illinois, Minnesota, or Washington (excluding Seattle Metro) is:$106,300—$125,000 USD
