Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable (AP) Supervisor who will be working alongside the Finance team delivering companywide results and analysis. The ideal candidate will ensure timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices, payments, and compliance with corporate policies, while maintaining strong vendor relationships and internal controls across multiple regions. This role will manage the AP team, streamline processes, and work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance efficiency in a fast-paced, global environment.
This function covers global Accounts Payable and will be managed centrally from the Bendigo office.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Team Management: Plan tasks, review work, evaluate performance, and supervise the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable team. This position will initially manage two full time staff. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Work with suppliers and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate process of vendor invoices and review supplier contracts when needed. Act as the primary point of contact for escalated AP issues globally.
- Ensure compliance: Establish and enforce procedures and guidelines to accurately record sales tax/GST/VAT and other fields.
- Maintain records: Keep records of cheques and vouchers issued. Ensure adequate and appropriate Accounts Payable controls are in place
- Ensure accuracy: Review financial statements and ensure they include the correct information. Timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations, vendor spend analysis and seek areas for improvement.
- Communicate: Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders whenever applicable.
- Global Accounts Payable Operations:
- Manage end-to-end AP processes, including invoice receipt, processing, payment, and vendor reconciliation across multiple currencies and regions.
- Ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations, such as GST, VAT, and withholding tax.
- Oversee payment cycles, ensuring accurate and timely payments to vendors and stakeholders.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement automation opportunities and process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
- Partner with IT and finance teams to enhance AP system functionalities (NetSuite).
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive AP dashboard and KPIs to monitor performance.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with accounting major
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. NetSuite experience will be advantageous but not essential.
- Thorough understanding of accounts payable functions, demonstrated experience in an accounts payable position and understanding of accounts payable issues
- Excellent supervisory and analytical skills: ability to manage and prioritize various responsibilities with competing, short deadlines
- 5+ year’s accounting/auditing experience
- Strong procedural experience
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Base Salary
Compensation for this role will vary among specific regions due to geographic differentials in the labor market, actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, knowledge, education and training.
