August Schell is looking for an experienced Proposal Manager to join our Capture team. This position oversees the entire opportunity lifecycle, from strategic inception to successful submission. You will spearhead the creation and preparation of proposal responses, working closely with various departments and key stakeholders. This role plays a pivotal role in enhancing our business development capabilities, significantly driving our growth and continued success.
What you will do...
- Lead the development of high-quality proposals in response to government solicitations, requests for proposals (RFPs), and other opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business development, technical, and subject matter experts, to gather information and develop compelling proposal content.
- Write, edit, and format proposal sections, ensuring clarity, coherence, and compliance with solicitation requirements and evaluation criteria.
- Conduct thorough reviews and evaluations of proposal drafts to identify areas for improvement and ensure alignment with customer needs and objectives.
- Manage proposal timelines, milestones, and deadlines to ensure timely submission and adherence to proposal requirements.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, trends, and developments related to proposal writing and capture management.
- Develop and execute capture strategies to win new business opportunities in alignment with company objectives.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify potential opportunities and inform capture strategies.

What you will bring…
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in proposal writing, capture management, or related roles, preferably in the federal contracting or IT industry.
- Proven track record of writing winning proposals and securing contracts in a competitive environment.
- Strong understanding of proposal development processes, methodologies, and best practices.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy, even under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Stand out with…
- Strong understanding of the federal procurement process, including FAR and DFARS regulations.
- Experience in researching and analyzing federal government procurement opportunities to identify viable contract opportunities.
Pay Transparency…
August Schell will never discharge or discriminate against employees or applicants for discussing, inquiring about, or sharing information regarding their pay or the pay of others, in compliance with 41 CRF 60-1.35(c). The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $150,000 per year, based on qualifications, experience, and market alignment. This position is classified as Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Non-exempt employees are eligible for overtime pay in accordance with federal and state law for hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek.
