FS Investments is seeking for a motivated and skilled Junior Data Engineer to join our dynamic data engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting data pipeline development, optimizing data systems, and ensuring the smooth flow of data across our platform. This role will be based in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. This will be a great opportunity for someone with foundational experience in Snowflake, Airflow, Python, and SQL, who is eager to contribute to the design, development, and scaling of our data infrastructure.
The successful candidate is expected to:
- Data Pipeline Development: Build and maintain efficient data pipelines in Airflow or similar tool to support data ingestion, processing, and transformation workflows.
- Data Warehousing: Use Snowflake or Similar warehouse to manage and optimize data storage, ensuring data is structured and accessible for analytical purposes.
- ETL Processes: Assist in the design and execution of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to support business intelligence and analytics requirements.
- SQL Development: Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data retrieval and reporting, with a focus on performance and scalability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with senior data engineers, data analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and assist in troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Documentation: Create and maintain clear documentation for data processes, ETL workflows, and data warehouse structures.
- Data Quality: Monitor and ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across pipelines, implementing validation checks and handling errors
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in Software Development, preferably within financial services.
- Database: Experience in data warehousing or database concepts and proficiency in data storage and retrieval concept.
- Python: Strong programming skills in Python for data manipulation, scripting, and building custom transformations.
- SQL: Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write optimized queries and troubleshoot complex data operations.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical data issues with a keen eye for detail.
- Communication: Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical team members and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with additional data tools or platforms (e.g., DBT, AWS, or similar cloud-based solutions).
- Knowledge of data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Familiarity with data quality and data governance best practices.
