With a full view of the loan process from Sales to Closing, this role is an excellent opportunity to learn about Small Businesses Lending and a great feeder role to more advanced SBA and Commercial Lending roles throughout our growing organization.Responsibilities include reviewing applications, initial underwriting of certain loans and assisting our closing team with 3rd party reports. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review assigned loan applications for complete documentation prior to underwriting
- Assist closing team with completing and reviewing 3rd party reports such as business valuations, real estate appraisals, and environmental reports
- Assist underwriters and the Underwriting team with tasks that support the underwriting process
- As you progress, this could be a feeder role to more Underwriting responsibilities
- Periodically engages in discussions of prospective loan requests with BDA/BDOs, prospective borrowers, the closing team and Credit Leadership
- Periodically performs analysis of financial statement spreads, repayment capacity for borrowers, and other analysis as required
Qualifications for Success:
- 4 year degree or equivalent work experience
- Analytic/Quantitative degree (such as Accounting, Finance, Engineering, etc.) or equivalent work experience in lending, banking, accounting, auditing or other financial roles
- Knowledge of SBA or Conventional Lending is a plus but not required
- Knowledge of Microsoft office with emphasis on excel
- Ability and desire to learn quickly and think analytically
Physical Demands:The physical demands of the position are typical of those found in a traditional office environment. Employees will not need to walk significant distances nor lift substantial weight.
