The Job


This role will drive all purchasing activities for our new facility, including sourcing raw materials, equipment, and machinery, ensuring optimalcost, quality, and delivery timelines. The ideal candidate has a deep background in industrial procurement, a proven track record with EPC projects in the process industries, and experience coordinating inspections and QA/QC with both third-party and in-house teams. 

Responsibilities


Commercial Negotiations - Lead high-value negotiations with global suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.  - Draft and finalize contracts, including terms for warranties, penalties, and performance guarantees. Supplier & Relationship Management - Identify and qualify new vendors while maintaining robust relationships with existing suppliers.  - Conduct regular performance reviews, addressing quality, delivery, and cost metrics to optimize the supply chain. Equipment, Machinery & Materials Procurement - Oversee the sourcing of equipment, machinery, and raw materials essential for facility operations.  - Collaborate with engineering teams to align procurement strategies with technical specifications and project requirements. Inspections & QA/QC Coordination - Arrange and oversee pre-shipment and post-delivery inspections, ensuring materials and equipment meet specifications.  - Work closely with third-party inspection agencies and internal QA/QC teams to uphold the highest quality standards.  - Address non-conformance issues promptly and implement corrective actions. Process Optimization - Develop and refine procurement processes to drive efficiencies, reduce costs, and shorten lead times.  - Utilize KPIs and industry best practices to continually improve procurement outcomes. Compliance & Risk Management - Ensure adherence to local regulations, company policies, and corporate sustainability goals.  - Maintain comprehensive documentation of all procurement activities, contracts, and supplier performance. 

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or a related technical field). 
  • 15+ years of procurement experience, ideally within large-scale industrial or production facilities. 
  • Proven involvement in EPC projects and a track record of procuring chemicals, polymers, or specialized process equipment. 

Preferred Qualifications


  • Familiarity with procurement standards and practices from leading global producers (e.g., ExxonMobil, Dow, Celanese, BASF). 
  • Expertise in commercial negotiations and contract management. 
  • Skilled in coordinating inspections and resolving QA/QC issues. 
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and related procurement software. 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities. 
  • Excellent analytical skills for managing complex sourcing activities. 
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and align procurement strategies with overall business objectives.
