THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance team to help ensure accurate financial reporting, streamline key processes, and maintain compliance with accounting standards.The Senior Accountant will bring tremendous value in managing and improving financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, month-end close, and supporting the annual audit process. HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Oversee and enhance the accounts payable process, including coding expenses to the proper accounts, setting up new vendors, and collecting W-9s.
- Manage and monitor accounts receivable processes, ensuring invoicing accuracy, tracking collections, and performing detailed reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting.
- Oversee the reconciliation of bank and credit card statements, ensuring discrepancies are investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
- Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring the accuracy of journal entries, reconciling key accounts, and preparing financial reports in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage communications for the Finance inbox.
- Play a key role in the annual audit, providing requested documentation, and proactively addressing audit inquiries.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes.
- Assist with the 1099 filing process.
- Assist with sales tax compliance and reconciliations for sales tax return filings.
WHAT SKILLS YOU’LL NEED
- 3 - 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a startup environment
- Proficiency with Xero or similar accounting software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and drive efficiencies
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing tasks and demands in a fast-paced environment
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to analyze financial reports
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments
- Strong sense of ownership and takes initiative to drive projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
BONUS IF YOU HAVE:
- Audit experience
- Experience with consumption-based SaaS billing models
- Experience with Bill.com and Google Suite
- CPA or CPA candidate
