We are a fast paced growing company in the cannabis sector, and we are looking for a solid People and Culture/HR Manager to join our team based in North Hollywood. This role is a consistent and reliable collaborator with our various business units and plays a crucial part supporting managers with a wide variety of HR activities including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, culture/team building, learning and development, safety, compliance, etc.

WHAT YOU'VE DONE (QUALIFICATIONS)The must haves:
- College degree or equivalent work experience
- 2-4 years experience in HR/People function with strong generalist knowledge
- Solid general administrative skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English including reading, writing, speaking, listening and understanding
- Organized and detail oriented with a solid track record of juggling multiple competing priorities
- Basic project management skills
- Customer service mindset and skills
- Event planning experience
- Strong Microsoft Office and Google Suite Skills
- Adept at learning/navigating new technology
- General knowledge and/or experience using an HRIS, ATS and LMS
The nice-to-haves
- Experience in a fast paced company experiencing rapid growth is preferred
- Cannabis industry knowledge or experience a plus
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is a plus
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: (ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES)
- Support business units/managers with a variety of HR needs including:
- recruiting
- onboarding
- write-ups/performance management
- employee relations
- team building
- attendance/payroll/timekeeping
- safety
- workers compensation
- compliance
- Help draft coaching, write-ups, communication pieces, etc.
- Create reports and use data to analyze issues and identify opportunities and solutions
- Assist with the training and development programs
- Team and companywide event planning
- Basic office management support
- Help design, coordinate and implement culture building initiatives and company events
- Evaluate best practices for situations and collaborate with managers to enable desired outcomes
- Demonstrate company values of Happy, Hungry, Focused
- Able to work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes competing deadlines
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Design, execute and document safety programs and compliance
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Clear vision, hearing and speech
- Able to sit and work at a computer for 8+ hours a day
- Able to utilize a phone up for 8+ hours a day
- Comfortable and able to work on-site
- Able to work on site four days a week and one day remote
- Adaptable and willing to work in a variety of environments (some environments may experience extreme temperatures from hot to cold)
