Senior Data Scientist - LLMs
Are you a seasoned Data Scientist with expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs)? Do you have a proven track record of leading complex Generative AI initiatives and driving significant impact? We're looking for a Senior Data Scientist to spearhead our LLM efforts, shaping the future of AI-powered tools for top YouTube creators.
What You'll Do
- Lead the development and deployment of advanced LLM solutions and pipelines.
- Architect and oversee the fine-tuning and serving of LLMs, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Drive innovation and strategic direction of LLM initiatives, identifying new opportunities.
- Mentor junior data scientists.
- Collaborate to integrate LLM solutions into core product workflows.
- Represent the team in technical discussions and presentations.
- Optimize LLM training and serving, improving model quality.
- Develop and deploy LLMs for content generation tasks.
- Share findings with other modelers.
- Research advancements in NLP and LLMs, applying new techniques.
- Stay updated on LLM industry trends and applications.
- Conduct experiments and benchmarking to assess model performance and optimize hyperparameters.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues during model training and deployment.
- Ensure smooth product delivery, balancing short-term returns and long-term growth.
Who You Are
- PhD in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field and 8+ years professional experience
- Extensive experience in developing and deploying LLMs (GPT, LLaMA, BERT, or similar).
- Deep understanding and hands-on experience building deep learning models (CNNs, RNNs, Transformers) and their applications.
- Experience in data querying languages such as SQL, scripting & analytical languages such as Python, R, etc...
- Proven ability to lead and mentor data science teams.
- Strong expertise in MLOps and LLM deployment strategies.
- Experience with large-scale data processing and analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable plans.
- Passionate about staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and LLMs.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles that will be performed in Los Angeles. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current pay range is: $170K-$220K salary per year. The range listed is just one component of Spotter’s total compensation package for employees.
