Technical Consultant

Greystone TechnologyDenver, Colorado, United StatesHybrid, Onsite

Greystone Technology is looking for creative, self-accountable IT professionals to engage in our fast-paced, people-driven service model.  Average IT people tend to be great at solving technical issues, but poor at understanding the true problems that need to be solved.
We’ve redesigned the way technology services are provided – from the ground up. We don’t start with solutions; we start with questions. Lots of them. Then we listen.  Service providers have a well-earned reputation for sharing the answer before knowing the problem, resulting in businesses getting solutions they don’t need to problems they don’t have. If you think differently, solve creatively, and love to connect with people, we want you to join our mission of digging deep and proving how meaningful IT services can be.  It’s as common sense as it is revolutionary. We are looking for a Technical Consultant (in other companies your job title could be Network/Systems Engineer, Systems Administrator, Technical Account Manager, or you could be an aspiring IT Manager) to join our Managed Services team.

The Technical Consultant holds the ultimate accountability for a clients base’s technology needs and satisfaction.  You will also mentor the engineer on your team in technical and business acumen. • Supporting various end-users by troubleshooting and resolving computer, application, system, device, access issues for OnDemand clients

  • Partner with Professional Services for additional support on projects and technology implementation
  • Reaching a goal of maintaining 6 billable hours daily or 30 billable hours weekly
  • Learning independently about our clients’ ever-changing systems
  • Working both in our office and on location with our clients

Here are the attributes we’re looking for:

  • 4+ years experience in an outsourced technology environment
  • The mentality of a coach and mentor (you like to share your knowledge and expertise)
  • The ability to understand business problems through a technology lens
  • The ability to communicate at all levels in our client's organization
  • The ability and desire to work on a dedicated team
  • A focus on thinking critically over-relying on technical expertise
  • An empathetic person who has the ability to understand the perspective of our client’s users
  • An ability to ask the right questions to discover the context of general client issues
  • Ability to maintain confidence in the face of ambiguity
  • A positive, courteous demeanor and the ability to communicate professionally under pressure
  • An inherent commitment to serving your client
  • Ability to thrive in an environment of authentic connection, candor, and open feedback
  • The confidence, self-awareness, and integrity to take ownership of your successes and failures and learn from them

Preferred technical skills include experience with the following:

  • Microsoft platforms (e.g. Office 365, Active Directory, all current flavors of Windows)
  • Advanced knowledge of networking principles (TCPIP, DNS, DHCP, Lan/Wan, VLAN, Layer 3 Principles)
