Mission:


The Applications Engineer (AE) represents technical aspects of business development and project definition. AE is responsible for providing full technical support for Business Development/Sales of all Anaergia Projects from the origination phase through contract negotiation and hand over to the Anaergia Project Execution Team with all required specifications and budget development. Consistently manage the assigned engineering activities in preparing project documents in compliance with the project schedule and observing the correctness and completeness of the provided information.


Outcomes/Goals:


The AE’s goals can be summarized as follows:-        Design phase: Provide technical support to the Sales managers and define the plant process technology and equipment in the plant design.-        Proposal phase: Calculate cost and price using Anaergia tools and base the design on the recommendations, lessons learned, and best practices in the Anaergia Design Manual.-        Provide technical documentation and cost data for the Contracts, Sales, and Marketing teams and help negotiate technical issues at the customer level.-        Permanent support to Sales during the proposal phase, interfacing with the client, client engineers, sub-consultants, contractors, and permitting agencies as required.-        Quickness and flexibility in responding to urgent questions from project managers, project engineers, and sales managers.Provide an integrated view of the project and forge strong links between all internal and external stakeholders to ensure a consistent and coordinated technical approach for all projects.

Tasks, Authority and Liability:


The AE`s tasks include:-        Provide technical and commercial support and product advice for existing and future product portfolios within the total areas of solid waste treatment, anaerobic digestion, biogas utilization, and wastewater treatment.-        Develop Front-End Engineering Documents (FEED), including Block Flow Diagrams (BFD), Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), process and Instrumentation Diagrams (PID), and general arrangement drawings, as necessary during bid development.

-        Review and appraise customer specifications and provide summary notes, including the specifications' alignment with Anaergia’s Products, both current and under development.  -        Design systems, including biological processes, using existing tools and process blocks in coordination with the Global Applications Engineering Team. -        Process customer inquiries and orders; analyze customer requirements and develop offers in close consultation with the business development team; obtain, compile, and process information about competitors and the market.-        Prepare proposals and price calculations according to company guidelines and implemented processes; request quotations from defined and selected subcontractors and pre-negotiate the received quotes.-        Actively participating in Offer Preparation during the proposal phase to note any deviations; Participate in finding solutions in coordination with internal manufacturing departments and the sales manager.-        Compile all relevant technical documents for the proposal and/or contract.-        Support the Sales department in the request phase for pre-qualification.-        Record all project-relevant documents and costing data within the CRM.-        Perform continuous maintenance of the costing database with the Global Applications Team.-      Support and coordinate preliminary design activities during project development of Anaergia Build Own Operation Business, including site/civil, electrical, mechanical, and structural, as well as permitting and grant application activities as necessary.Safety and Quality related responsibilities:

The AE is responsible for the rigorous application of the company rules with regard to application engineering activities, the accuracy of the provided data, and compliance with the document list’s schedule for the document’s issue;

Compliance with safety guidelines and requirements is a priority for Anaergia.


Competencies/ Qualifications/Experience:


Education -


Holds a technical diploma or graduation in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or environmental engineering, or another high technical education or equivalent with a focus on municipal and environmental engineering.Experience -  Experience of at least three to five years (Five years preferred) as an Engineer in the Industrial Plant business, preferably in waste treatment, wastewater treatment, or anaerobic digestion. Design experience of projects during university education also counted.

Understanding of all MS Office tools and ability to adapt to new digital tools. Basic understanding of process plants, including physical-chemical processes. Competencies - Technical skills: Good understanding of fundamental processes like wastewater treatment, biogas, anaerobic digestion, and/or municipal solid waste (will be preferred). Knowledge of mass and energy balance. Ability to use MS Office tools. Key Personal Attributes:Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude to get things done.
