Position Summary
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible forwill assist in handling incoming and outgoing shipments in the buildingDuties/Responsibilities:· Receives goods and verifies the quality and count of all items in incoming parcels.· Count and immediately reports discrepancies to supervisor and purchasing officer per company policy.This includes any major discrepancies, over shipments and under shipments.· Records all items and necessary details on receipt log.· Confirming the details of outgoing shipments match the corresponding packing slips.Carefully packing these outgoing items prior to handing off to carrier.· Transports items with a hand truck from and to receiving roomand handing off to the carrier vehicles.· Help maintain organization and cleanliness of all shipping areas.· Restocking of shipping supplies and notifying supervisor of any low stock supplies.· Performs other clerical duties.Required Skills/Abilities: · Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received.· Good organizational skills and attention to detail.Education and Experience:· High school diploma or equivalent required.· Prior experience in a mail room or receiving room environment preferred.Physical Requirements: · Must be able to access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.
· Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time, with or without reasonable accommodation.
