Position Overview:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring products and services meet established quality standards by monitoring production processes, testing products, identifying defects, recommending improvements, and collaborating with teams to maintain quality throughout the manufacturing cycle, often utilizing knowledge of industry regulations and quality management systems like ISO standards; key duties include developing quality control plans, conducting inspections, performing root cause analysis, and documenting quality issues to drive continuous improvement.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with manufacturing, process, field service and quality teams to establish processes and procedures that will ensure consistently high quality.
- Rapidly communicate emerging and trending quality issues.
- Execute timely corrective action for quality mitigation and containment.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support investigation, containment, and execution for strategic quality issues.
- Review and contribute to validation protocols and test plans
- Flexibility for dynamic changes in day-to-day work as it pertains to daily quality priorities.
- Maintain quality performance metrics and drive issues to root cause solutions.
- Audit manufacturing line against released manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Assist in the identification and resolution of manufacturing quality issues, contain parts or products as needed, sort parts for quality requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities, with manufacturing and external suppliers.
- Analyze and disposition product nonconformances.
- Analyze and interpret data independently.
- Anticipate potential problems and take preventative action.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
- Required: Minimum of 5 – 7 years of experience working with industry standards that include ISO 9001 (AS9100 preferred)

- Creativity in problem solving; ability to quantify problems and develop analytical solution development, proficient in data-driven decision making.
- Demonstrated ability to be disciplined in approach and thought process.
- Team-oriented and self-directed.
- Experience with CAD (e.g., SolidWorks) is a plus.
- High level of accountability.
- Experience within quality systems in a medium/high volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO/TS 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA preferred.
- Experience with extensive problem-solving and root cause analysis.
- Strong aptitude for electronic test and measurements systems.
- Experience in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, ability to lift and sort parts of up to 30 pounds as needed.
- Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills.
- Ability to use technological tools and business system applications to manage, synthesize, and interpret data.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma practices, 5S, TPS, TQM, etc. highly desired.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

- Work is performed in an office setting as well as on the manufacturing floor.

The starting base salary for this full-time position is between $95,000 and $140,000. This salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for this position in the U.S. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience, job-related skills, related education, work location, and market demands.
The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
