Chief Product Officer

Job Summary


The Chief Product Officer is the primary leader of the product team, responsible for high-level product development road mapping, strategies and operations. This role will collaborate directly with the President and other department officers to meet key business objectives. This role will create and implement overarching product strategies, track decisive product and market analytics as well as align operations of product, engineering, marketing and related department teams to ensure delivery of, and customer success with, deployed products.

Essential Functions


  • Product Strategy 
  • Direct and implement company-wide product vision and strategies. 
  • Oversee the product innovation process with a problem-solving approach.
  • Apply the principles of research and analysis to gain valuable insights into their target market to continuously evolve their product development strategies and deliver improved customer experience.
  • Understand product and market metrics to inform significant decisions.
  • Guide product team in accordance with strategic goals to inform product backlog.
  • Partner with CTO to inform and motivate product development teams to deliver product.
  • Product Execution
  • Create a detailed roadmap for the product lifecycle that includes specifying the product market and the needs it aims to fulfill key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure the product’s performance and the organization’s expectations from the product.
  • Oversee product development initiatives and roadmaps from conception to launch. 
  • Coordinate product launch, evaluating product performance, and product expansion into new markets.
  • Communicate development progress, suggestions and concerns directly with the CEO or other department officers.
  • Service & Support
  • Deliver implementations on time and on budget.
  • Ensure support meets contracted customer SLAs.
  • Continuously improve operational processes and skill sets.
  • Establish customer success function for proactive customer experience.
  • Organizational Management of Product, Services and Support Teams
  • Develop leadership team to support each function.
  • Set goals and KPIs for each team to improve scalability and capabilities, in support of PCMI P&L goals.
  • Handle sensitive team and product information.

Supervisory Responsibilities


  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff. 
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.  
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy. 

Education and Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in technology leadership roles.
  • Proven experience creating and executing companywide product strategies and product vision. 
  • Experience leading a large-scale production roadmap. 
  • Experience aligning multiple teams and resolving issues in accordance with business objectives.

Physical Requirements


  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. 

Travel Requirements


  • Must be able to travel to client meetings; approximately 25%

Work Environment 


  • Must be able to commute to Park Ridge, IL office two days per week.
