About the Role: Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)


We’re excited to welcome a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to our team! This part-time opportunity is based in a supportive Therapeutic Day School in Oak Forest, IL, where you'll work with 2nd-12th grade students, helping them develop essential skills to succeed in and beyond the classroom.

About the School:


This Therapeutic Alternative Program offers services for students experiencing social and emotional problems in school. The program is designed to provide students with the therapeutic supports and interventions they need to learn and find success in school. The curriculum is aligned with Common Core standards and follows the courses taught in students’ home schools.Along with academic instruction, students learn the social skills required for building and maintaining satisfactory relationships, constructively solving problems, managing their physical and emotional health, securing employment, living independently and achieving other worthwhile goals.

This staff is committed to working closely with parents, home schools, and community agencies.

What You’ll Do


💡 Bring Therapy Plans to Life – Implement engaging, individualized treatment plans created by Occupational Therapists to support students' unique needs.👐 Support Student Growth – Help students strengthen fine motor skills, improve sensory processing, and develop self-regulation strategies.🤝 Foster Meaningful Connections – Work with students in both individual and small group settings, providing therapy in a welcoming and encouraging environment.📋 Track Progress & Advocate – Maintain organized records of therapy sessions, progress notes, and reports, and contribute valuable insights during IEP meetings.🎯 Collaborate for Student Success – Partner with teachers, school staff, and families to align therapy goals with students' learning journeys.✨ Adapt & Innovate – Modify activities and materials to ensure accessibility and engagement for all students.

What You Bring


✔️ Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) license in Illinois✔️ Experience with children or in a school-based setting (preferred)✔️

Strong communication and collaboration skills
