Based at our global headquarters in Houston, TX, the Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that all products meet internal and external quality standards while driving continual improvement initiatives. The Quality Manager has a strong background in quality management systems, compliance, and leadership within the manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control & Assurance:
- Continually develop the MetOx quality management system to ensure our products and processes comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Establish and maintain inspection procedures, testing methodologies, and quality assurance processes and inspection productivity
- Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality specifications and coordinate with process engineers and operations teams to resolve any deviations
Problem Resolution & Compliance:
- Lead investigations into quality issues, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action implementation
- Conduct supplier, internal, and external audits to assess compliance with ISO, FDA, or other applicable quality standards
- Maintain accurate documentation of quality reports, certifications, and regulatory compliance records
Collaboration & Training:
- Work collaboratively with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to maintain and continually improve product quality
- Train and mentor staff on quality standards, procedures, and quality best practices
Continual Improvement & Customer Relations:
- Drive continual improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing
- Liaise with suppliers and customers to address quality concerns and ensure customer satisfaction
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other relevant field
- 5 years of experience managing and/or building a quality management system at a manufacturer.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Six Sigma, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or similar credentials.
- Experience with automated quality control systems and statistical process control (SPC).
- Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean, etc.).
- Strong leadership and team building skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in quality control statistics and analysis tools such as Minitab
- Experience with regulatory compliance and international quality standards.
- Experience performing ISO 9001 (or equivalent QMS standard) audits in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience administrating an electronic document control system.
- Has expert knowledge of quality system key functions including management of change, audits, calibration, control of nonconformities, and risk management.
- Works across a variety of quality assurance disciplines.
Physical Demands:
This position requires sitting at a desk and viewing a computer screen for extended periods while working or performing other office tasks. Ability to move around the office, including occasional standing, walking, and bending to retrieve documents, attend meetings, or use office equipment. Some light lifting may be required, up to 20 lbs.
