Based at our global headquarters in Houston, TX, the Buyer III is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials and supplies necessary for manufacturing operations. This role requires strong negotiation skills, supplier management experience, and an understanding of procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality and delivery standards.Key Responsibilities:Inventory & Cost Management
- Update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels
- Analyze market trends and apply the knowledge to make insightful buying decisions
- Work closely with production planning to maintain optimal inventory levels and prevent shortages or overstocking
Supplier Management & Negotiations
- Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for best pricing
- Monitor supplier performance (e.g., delivery times, quality issues) and take corrective action as needed
Procurement & Sourcing
- Research, select, and purchase quality products and material
- Identify and evaluate new and existing suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met
Purchasing Operations & Compliance
- Process requisitions and update management on status of orders
- Arrange transport of goods and track order to ensure timely delivery
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and industry regulations
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or relevant field
- 3 years of experience managing supply chain and logistics activities in manufacturing environment
- Lean manufacturing experience, Kanban systems, supermarkets, material handling and just in time replenishment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
- Experience with NetSuite preferred

- Organization, time management, prioritizing and the ability to handle a complex, varied workload
Physical Demands: This position requires sitting at a desk and viewing a computer screen for extended periods while working or performing other office tasks. Ability to move around the office, including occasional standing, walking, and bending to retrieve documents, attend meetings, or use office equipment.
