Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Rapid Response Senior Network Engineer to lead the implementation and troubleshooting of network systems in a high-pressure environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with network routers and switches, software-defined networks, and DoD IT environments.
What You Will Do:
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network routers, switches, and other network devices.
- Design, architect, and implement routed and switched networks to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of software-defined networks (SDNs).
- Monitor network performance, trending, resource utilization, and capacity planning.
- Use current and emerging network design principles and protocols to ensure network efficiency and scalability.
- Manage network virtualization technologies and multi-tenant network architectures.
- Work with a variety of network routing and switching equipment from multiple vendors.
- Implement and manage scripts for monitoring and automation of network threshold events.
- Provide rapid response troubleshooting and support to resolve network issues.
Requirements
What We Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or Equivalent.
- Minimum three (3) years in primary role operating, troubleshooting, and installing network routers and switches.
- Minimum three (3) years in primary role designing and architecting routed and switched networks.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in a DoD environment.
- Outstanding mathematics and IT abilities.
- Experience configuring and installing various network devices and services.
- Proficient in monitoring network performance, resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
- Use of current and emerging network design principles and protocols.
- Experience with network virtualization technologies.
- Experience with multi-tenant network architectures.
- Familiarity with a wide variety of network routing and switching equipment from multiple vendors.
- Proficiency in scripting languages and coding for network threshold events.
Certifications:
- At least one nationally recognized certification for senior network administrators/engineers/architects tied to the proposed solution’s routers and switches.
- IAT Level III in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M – CISSP, CISA, CCNP, or CASP CE. Must be obtained within 120 days after start of BPA Period of Performance.
