Job Summary:
This position combines strategic thinking and learning and development expertise to drive organizational success at Group 1001. As a Manager on the Distribution team within Strategy, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's path toward becoming a dominant, next-generation financial services company, while also developing employees to meet the organization’s vision and mission. This role will be responsible for partnering with leaders across the business to identify and act on strategic and operational questions, as well as developing and delivering high-impact learning projects to develop employees.
Main Accountabilities:
- Execution of Strategic Initiatives with a focus on Learning & Development for the Distribution/Marketing Team:
- Design, develop, and implement technical and soft skills training programs to continually uplevel the distribution/marketing team, e.g.:
- Basics and implementation of AI tools
- Introduction to annuities and the differences in business models between Delaware Life and Gainbridge.
- Construct lesson plans and materials for in-person and virtual training courses, e.g. training curriculum as we launch new sales teams like the IMO distribution team and the hybrid wholesaler team.
- Own strategic projects where learning/development is crucial to the overall success of the project, e.g.:
- Working with the sales desk manager at Delaware Life to identify, implement, and provide training on the team’s technology needs to launch a brand new type of salesforce team successfully
- Building the process to interview Gainbridge customers which includes identifying, training, and certifying Gainbridge teammates to conduct interviews
- Execution of Strategic Initiatives:
- Partner with senior leaders across the company to identify and address critical strategic and operational questions, e.g., the implementation of company core competencies
- Structure complex, ambiguous strategic problems, define clear hypotheses, and build business cases to inform decision-making, e.g., putting together a presentation on various drivers of Gainbridge’s success in Q2 and Q3 of 2024
- Work with cross-functional leaders to manage key drivers of business performance and identify opportunities for improvement, e.g., working with the operations, marketing and sales enablement teams to develop and execute a playbook to address client-facing errors
- General project management support across the distribution/marketing team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related experience.
- Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in strategy or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of instructional design/content development/facilitation experience.
- Financial services or insurance experience preferred.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects.
- Strong business judgment with the ability to approach complex problems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Adept at managing people dynamics and participants' behavior.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
