Party Chief

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Supervise and train survey crew members on proper survey techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures. 
• Review project plans, legal descriptions, and existing survey data to determine the most efficient survey methods. 
• Operate survey instruments like GPS, total stations, levels, and data collectors to gather accurate field data, including topography, property boundaries, and elevations. 
• Maintain detailed and legible field notes, documenting all measurements, observations, and relevant details. 
• Perform calculations to adjust angles, distances, bearings, and elevations using surveying software. 
• Locate and mark property boundaries, easements, and right-of-ways based on legal descriptions and survey data. 
• Set stakes and markers on the ground to indicate property lines and construction layout points.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of experience in boundary surveying, topographical surveys, tree surveys and construction staking.
• Expertise in operating various surveying instruments like GPS, total stations, levels, and data collectors with a high level of accuracy and precision.
• Ability to effectively lead, mentor and manage a survey crew.
• Ability to identify and resolve issues in the field related to survey challenges or unexpected conditions. 
• Ability to communicate clearly with survey department team members.
