Job Title: Junior EstimatorCompany: Lonestar Lighting & TechnologyLocation: TexasJob Type: Full-timeEEO Class: Administrative Support WorkerVETERANS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLYLonestar Lighting and Technology is looking for a Junior Estimator who will support the Quotations, Estimating and sales team to ensure all prospective construction projects are accurately assessed for cost, revenue and materials associated with the electrical components and lighting of residential and commercial jobs. You will use your communication and organizational skills to work closely under the guidance of internal and external stakeholders, such as general contractors, manufacturers, and their representative agencies, to acquire the necessary information to provide these projections.
The ideal candidate will also have a strong desire to learn more about the industry, processes and best practices within estimation. Responsibilities:
- Work with stakeholders to assess projects by identifying requirements regarding time, labor, and material costs.
- Support in the reading of blueprints and analysis of all other applicable documents to assist in the preparation of estimates.
- Prepare reports detailing the full scope of lighting packages, to be reviewed with estimators or leadership prior to customer approval.
- Collaborate with Estimators to compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
- Obtain and maintain current information on manufacturer’s ongoing pricing structures and recommend cost-reduction options, where available.
- Review calculations, analyzations, and adjustment of estimates for estimators.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Ability to work independently or as a part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, critical thinking, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Time management skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required infrequently.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
