Livent USA Corp. seeks Process Controls Engineer in Bessemer City, NC:
Job Duties: Develop and design programs for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Distributed Control Systems (DCSs). Day-to-day upkeep of the process controls network. Support the production areas with programming and control needs. Identify maintenance and upgrade needs for plant process controls and data historian systems. Execute projects to enhance and maintain process control network and data historian where needed. Support projects around the plant site to ensure consistency in process controls materials and programming are implemented.
Maintain the most up to date versions of the process controls programs including all software and firmware updates. Identify and implement Best Practices for maintenance of control and distribution equipment. Review electrical design drawings, equipment/instrument specifications, etc. to ensure quality of design, conformance to standards and compatibility with existing installations. Prepare detailed design packages in support of project needs. Assist in capital budgeting process in support of operational area control needs.
Participate in commissioning and start up activities involving new electrical components or systems, process controls or instrumentation. Support the maintenance and E&I technicians with troubleshooting. Develop preventive maintenance (PM) strategies to ensure reliable operation of process instrumentation and control systems. Support site SIS systems. Requires up to 10% domestic/international travel.Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering or related field of study and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in job offered or experience in any job title/occupation/position involving Process Controls within a manufacturing environment.Special Skill Requirements: Experience specified must include 5 years of experience with each of the following: Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Distributed Control Systems (DCSs); Process control electrical and instrumentation best practices; and Allen Bradley PLC Systems, ABB DCS – 800xA, Safety Interlock Systems (SIS), OSHA PSM environment, MCC’s, Variable speed drives, Motion controls, and PI data historian.
