Position Details:


The Child Mind Institute is looking for a experienced and motivated Behavior Technician to join our Pediatric OCD Intensive Service Team and work directly with our patients and families. Behavioral Technicians receive training in evidence-based interventions including exposure and response prevention (ERP) used to treat children struggling with OCD and other anxiety disorders. Behavioral Technicians work one-on-one with patients both inside and outside of Child Mind Institute in New York City. In addition to direct patient care, they are expected to maintain regular clinical notes, help with data gathering, and attend all supervision and team meetings.Reporting to Director, Pediatric OCD Intensive Service, this is a non-exempt, full-time, fully on-site position located in our NYC headquarters office.

You Will:


  • Provide one-on-one, direct care to Child Mind Institute patients.
  • Expected to travel within New York City with patients providing ERP.
  • Observe diagnostic evaluations and help with treatment planning.
  • Attend daily meetings with OCD Service team to discuss patient and family goals, progress, and challenges.
  • Enter and collect patient data, report on findings.
  • Provide detailed progress notes for each patient to supervisors. Enter all information into electronic health record (EHR).

You Have:


  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, human services or related field.
  • Prior experience working with children and/or in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Experience with conflict resolution.
  • Experience handling sensitive information
  • Passion for the Child Mind Institute's mission.

Pay Range


The salary range for the position is posted. Factors such as candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations affect the salary offered within this range. In addition, this salary may be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state and depending on the role), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
