Position Summary


:  This role will be responsible for setting a detailed production schedule to meet forecast, orders, and inventory targets as economically as possible aligned with the S&OP plan.  The plant scheduler will be responsible for ensuring the necessary raw materials and packaging materials are available to meet the production schedule.  This role will be responsible for coordinating material availability for outbound shipments and internal downstream requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Generate achievable daily/weekly production schedule by working with Area Manager(s) to understand supply capacities, capabilities and constraints 
  • Clearly communicate priorities to Plant Management, in alignment with Global Supply Chain
  • Develop and manage raw material and packaging requirements schedule, accountable for setting key raw material and packaging inventory targets
  • Ensure production accounting process accurately reflects production volumes and material usages by providing support and guidance to production personnel as necessary
  • Drive inventory control and accuracy for raw materials and finished goods in line with agreed KPI targets
  • Coordinate management of out-of-spec inventory and reduction of slow-moving or obsolete goods
  • Coordinate inter-plant transfers with other site planners
  • Manage achievable shipping schedule of finished goods, and provide feedback to demand planning to improve accuracy of the demand forecast
  • Responsible for attending Pre-Supply Review Meetings to provide plant input into the S&OP process to ensure consistent planning across the division in line with agreed KPI targets
  • Effectively communicate and escalate supply risks and impacts to demand/inventory targets to Global Supply Chain in a timely manner
  • Continually and deliberately identify and implement improvements in works systems, processes and personal development and as assigned in the achievement of department KPI targets
  • Actively utilize SAP MRP to understand requirements to generate purchase requisitions and production orders
  • Ensure SAP master data (material master, bill-of-materials, recipe/routings) and transactional data accuracy 
  • Adhere to site and department process and system requirements (SIMS, CPAR, Customer Complaints, QSA, MOC, etc.) and issue reports as needed 
  • Contribute to site-wide safety, health, and environmental performance through stewardship and adherence to all policies and procedures and participate in all related site programs and projects, including Responsible Care

Education and Experience 


  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, engineering, supply chain or related field
  • Minimum 5 years working in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years of planning experience

Knowledge and Skill Requirements


  • In depth knowledge of safety and a safety mindset 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MRP, materials management, inventory management, production scheduling
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and SAP ERP System
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and task completion dates, strong time management 
  • Ability to work independently and must have strong follow-up, organization and interpersonal skills to deal with all levels of employees 
  • Detail, deadline and customer service oriented, with the ability to integrate information in order to accurately understand and apply to an overall procedure and/or process
  • Creative thinker with good problem-solving skills
