System Programmer


Coho Technology Solutions is looking for a skilled
System Programmer to support the maintenance and enhancement of the CAV AF system, ensuring its continued operational effectiveness. This role involves developing, modifying, and maintaining Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, and Extensions (RICE) objects to support up to four software releases per year. The developer will be responsible for resolving discrepancy reports, implementing system change requests, and integrating changes provided by other organizations.

Responsibilities

:


  • Maintain, update, and enhance legacy system application code, software, and release documentation.
  • Develop and modify RICE objects to implement system updates, enhancements, and fixes.
  • Resolve Discrepancy Reports (DRs) and System Change Requests (SCRs) to improve system performance and functionality.
  • Deliver Technical Solutions and Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates for system modifications.
  • Conduct and support Critical Design Reviews (CDR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), and Test Readiness Reviews (TRR).
  • Monitor application logs, identify system issues, and perform ongoing reviews to ensure system stability.
  • Support the integration of system changes provided by external organizations.
  • Ensure compliance with security, configuration management, and software development best practices.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, testers, and system administrators.
  • Provide technical documentation, user guides, user and training support as required.

Requirements:


  • Clearance:

  • Public Trust (or ability to obtain one if required).

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Master of Information Systems or equivalent in structured training
  • Required Skills/ Qualifications:
  • 5+ in software development, with a focus on RICE object development.
  • Proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL, Forms, Reports, and Workflow.
  • Strong understanding of legacy system maintenance, software versioning, and system configuration management.
  • Experience in supporting multiple software releases per year, including testing and deployment.
  • Knowledge of solutions integration methodologies and system interfaces.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Desired Skills/ Qualifications:
  • Experience with government systems and security compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with Agile or DevOps methodologies for legacy system maintenance.
