Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Swiss Programmer Machinist with expertise in Mastercam programming to join our precision manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating Swiss-style CNC lathes to produce high-precision components. This role requires a deep understanding of Mastercam, G-code programming, blueprint reading, and machining best practices to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and quality in production.
Key Responsibilities:
Programming & Setup:
- Develop and optimize Swiss CNC programs using Mastercam, ensuring efficient tool paths and cycle times.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications to develop accurate programs.
- Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for optimal material removal and surface finish.
- Perform first-piece setups, adjustments, and troubleshooting to ensure accurate machining.
- Conduct test runs and dry runs to verify program accuracy before full production.
Machining Operations:
- Operate and adjust Swiss-style CNC lathes to maintain tight tolerances on complex components.
- Monitor machine performance, tool wear, and cutting conditions, making real-time adjustments as needed.
- Ensure compliance with quality control standards and inspection procedures using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.
- Work with multiple-axis machining, including live tooling and sub-spindle operations.
Process Improvement & Maintenance:
- Continuously improve machine efficiencies, tool life, and setup reduction through optimized programming techniques.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines and troubleshoot mechanical issues as needed.
- Collaborate with engineers, quality personnel, and production teams to optimize manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience programming and operating Swiss-style CNC lathes.
- Proficiency in Mastercam for Swiss CNC programming.
- Strong knowledge of G-code, M-code, and Fanuc controls.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, GD&T, and machining specifications.
- Experience with tight tolerances and precision machining.
- Familiarity with multi-axis machining, live tooling, and sub-spindle operations.
