We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Radar Software Engineer to join our Conflict Detection & Resolution (CD&R) team. In this critical role, you will design, develop, and optimize the radar software system that is fundamental to the safe operation of our fully autonomous Gen6 eVTOL aircraft, while operating in an urban air-mobility environment. This is a
hybrid
work opportunity. At Wisk, this means working onsite at our Mountain View, CA office 3 days per week with flexibility for the remainder of the days.
What you will do:
- In this role you will work closely with other software engineers to rehost the current design onto a DO-178C RTOS (real-time operating system) and into a CI/CD (Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery) development environment.
- You will collaborate with systems and simulation engineers to develop enhancements to the software design to meet the RTCA DO-366B Minimum Operational Performance Standards (MOPS) for the Traffic Surveillance Air-to-Air Radar.
- You will collaborate with systems and hardware engineers to define and document the Interface Control Document (ICD) to define the radar system’s exterior I/O and Hardware / Software interfaces.
- You will collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize radar system’s performance and integration.
- You will write new applications for additional radar capabilities (including: radar navigation, detection of terrain / ground obstacles and detection of local weather events)
- You will develop software scripts to support lab testing, RF field testing, flight testing and environmental testing.
- You will collaborate with the Software Verification team to ensure the design requirements are testable and dry run their test benches to check out newly developed code.
- You will participate in code reviews, perform WCET (Worst-Case Execution Time) analysis, write / solve problem reports, maintain configuration control of the in-development design, maintain traceability of the design / documentation to the requirements and generate DO-178C life cycle artifacts.
- You will support the Simulation team by exporting the software design into models they can use for Monte Carlo analysis and algorithms performance analysis.
- You will be a member of the CD&R team that is part of the larger Autoflight & Navigation team within the Autonomy & Airspace Integrated Product Team (IPT).
Requirements:
- Must be a US Person authorized to work on ITAR and Export Controlled Technology
- This position requires access to specific technology and/or software source code regulated under U.S. export control laws and is therefore limited to "U.S. Person(s)" as defined under U.S. export control laws and regulations (EAR Part 772 and ITAR Part 120, which definition includes more than U.S. citizens) or persons whose export control status is otherwise qualified for a license exception for such technology and/or software source code (EAR Part 740).
- A minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering (or related relevant engineering discipline), or 6 years of related experience with a Master’s degree in Software Engineering.
- Expertise in C/C++, Python and MATLAB/Simulink
- Strong background in digital signal processing and radar systems
- Hands-on experience with real-time embedded systems:
- -Developing Software Architecture
- -Developing Requirements
- -Performing Hardware / Software Integration
- Experience with safety-critical software development practices
- Familiarity with multi-core processors, GPUs, Linux and open-source projects
$180,400 - $212,300 a year
