POSITION SUMMARY
:The Assistant Merchant II plays a pivotal role in supporting the product selection process for the designated brand/product category, working directly with the Merchant and Senior Merchant to shape the product assortment. This role involves strategic analysis, including competitive shopping insights and performance metrics, to make data-driven recommendations that align with the company's goals. The Assistant Merchandiser II will contribute to both the product development process and the overall merchandising strategy, ensuring that the assortment reflects market trends, consumer demand, and business performance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create, track, and update sample management lists, ensuring the availability and readiness of sample items for merchant meetings or as needed.
- Collaborate closely with the Merchant/Senior Merchant to influence product selection and development for catalog and web assortments, ensuring alignment with brand strategies and market trends.
- Engage daily with cross-functional teams, ensuring cohesive coordination and communication on merchandising objectives, product development, and promotional strategies.
- Conduct in-depth competitive research by shopping catalogs and retail competition, identifying emerging trends and key items that inform strategic decision-making.
- Analyze business performance reports, focusing on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), to provide actionable insights and recommendations that drive future merchandising strategies and maximize sales.
- Regularly review historical sales data to make informed adjustments to assortments, product placement, and promotional strategies to drive revenue growth and maximize sales.
- Provide support to the Merchandise Manager/Senior Merchandise Manager on transversal responsibilities, ensuring efficient execution of merchandising initiatives and objectives.
- Assist in developing assortments in alignment with launch and promotional strategies, ensuring that product offerings meet business goals and customer expectations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of merchandising or product-related experience, with a focus on product selection, development, and performance analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage complex projects and timelines.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with merchandising software a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and trends to inform decision-making.
