Tempus has developed novel technology that generates, collects, structures, and analyzes vast amounts of data and merges with the power of AI; we can advance precision medicine today and, in parallel, facilitate the discovery, development, and delivery of optimal therapeutics for tomorrow. We are seeking a Program Strategy and Operations Manager to join our rapidly growing Studies team.

This role is responsible for supporting the Studies Program Leads who oversee the strategy and execution of our clinical studies (i.e., non-interventional clinical studies) and requires someone invested in cultivating and growing Tempus partnerships and capabilities to deliver novel projects with life science organizations.  This role will work cross-functionally with Business Development, Operations, Medical, Science, Regulatory, Quality, and Legal to help develop solutions that address our biopharma customers’ needs and support the success of Tempus Studies.

What You’ll Do


  • Collaborate with the study development team to integrate insights from Tempus's medical, operations, Compass, sequencing, regulatory, quality, and legal departments into study documents.
  • Support Program Lead functions during study management, including documentation, meeting minutes, action items, and content preparation for client meetings.
  • Aid in developing and organizing standard templates, tools, and processes for program management. 
  • Build internal and external presentations to communicate study status updates and ongoing program development initiatives. 
  • Facilitate internal project communication, planning, and collaboration, including creating project plans, task tracking, and document review.
  • Conduct market research to stay abreast of best practices and the evolving landscape of observational and biospecimen collection-sponsored studies.
  • Build models to forecast enrollments for new or amended studies. 
  • Support Program Lead in tracking revenue and costs and developing enhanced tools for financial reporting. 

Preferred Qualifications 


  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (or equivalent) for conducting essential forecasting and financial modeling to inform business decisions.
  • Experience using Microsoft PowerPoint (or equivalent)  to create and deliver clear, persuasive, and client-ready presentations.
  • Proven ability to successfully navigate multi-faceted client organizations with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience  working with companies who serviced Life Sciences companies in Research & Development and Real Word Data

Required Education & Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in a Science or Business discipline
  • 3 years of client-facing experience, including business development, alliance management, and/or management consulting or other similar roles, with a proven track record of delivering data-driven solutions and strategic insights.
  • Entrepreneurial business approach thrives in a high-growth, rapidly evolving business environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • A team player who can collaborate effectively with diverse groups to produce and present high-impact materials for internal and external stakeholders and a curious approach to problem-solving.

The expected salary range below is applicable if the role is performed from [Illinois] and may vary for other locations. Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience. Tempus offers a full range of benefits, which may include incentive compensation, restricted stock units, medical and other benefits, depending on the position.Illinois Pay Range$120,000—$170,000 USDWe are an equal opportunity employer.
