POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE


The Warehouse Lead is responsible for ensuring the efficient movement of materials within a manufacturing environment. This role involves overseeing inventory processes, coordinating warehouse activities, and acting as a key resource for warehouse personnel. While this role does not include direct managerial responsibilities, it requires leadership and operational expertise to support production demands.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Lead warehouse operations related to receiving, storage, and material distribution to production lines.
  • Ensure raw materials, components, and finished goods are properly handled, stored, and documented.
  • Assist in tracking and managing inventory levels through cycle counts and audits.
  • Coordinate material movement between warehouse and production to meet manufacturing schedules.
  • Train and mentor warehouse staff on proper procedures and operational best practices.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure adherence to warehouse safety policies and compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Identify and support process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training in logistics or supply chain preferred.
  • Experience:
  • 3+ years of warehouse experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with inventory control, warehouse management systems (WMS), and ERP software.
  • Previous leadership or team coordination experience is a plus.

Skills & Certifications:


  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Demands


  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed to meet production demands.

  • Inventory Control & Accuracy: Skilled in tracking and managing stock levels.

  • Forklift & Equipment Operation: Certified or experienced in material handling equipment.
  • Safety & Compliance: Familiar with OSHA standards and best practices for warehouse safety.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Works effectively with warehouse, production, and logistics teams.
