POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Warehouse Lead is responsible for ensuring the efficient movement of materials within a manufacturing environment. This role involves overseeing inventory processes, coordinating warehouse activities, and acting as a key resource for warehouse personnel. While this role does not include direct managerial responsibilities, it requires leadership and operational expertise to support production demands.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Lead warehouse operations related to receiving, storage, and material distribution to production lines.
- Ensure raw materials, components, and finished goods are properly handled, stored, and documented.
- Assist in tracking and managing inventory levels through cycle counts and audits.
- Coordinate material movement between warehouse and production to meet manufacturing schedules.
- Train and mentor warehouse staff on proper procedures and operational best practices.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ensure adherence to warehouse safety policies and compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Identify and support process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training in logistics or supply chain preferred.
- Experience:
- 3+ years of warehouse experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with inventory control, warehouse management systems (WMS), and ERP software.
- Previous leadership or team coordination experience is a plus.
Skills & Certifications:
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
- Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed to meet production demands.
