We are looking for a System Engineering Lead to join our team. The goal of an Energy Storage and Power Systems system engineering lead at Wisk is to lead the team and be responsible for all system engineering activities for EPSP, Battery pack, BMS, power distribution, Charging and Power conversion. You will be part of the ESPS (Energy Storage & Power System) team that is accountable to deliver the complete ESPS system engineering solutions for the Wisk Gen6 autonomous vehicle.This is a hybrid work opportunity.
At Wisk, this means working onsite at our Mountain View office 3 days per week with flexibility for the remainder of the days.
What you will do:
- Lead team of system engineers to develop, review approve and manage requirement, verification and validation solutions for energy storage and power systems including pack, BMS, Power distribution, Charing and Power conversion, etc
- Serve as system-level technical leader and provide domain guidance
- Lead ESPS certification path with FAA and internal teams
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary product teams and define product architecture
- Guide the team’s work by identifying key goals and deliverables with execution
- Conduct trade studies, analyses, and test programs as necessary to validate system architectures meet all requirements.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical/Electrical engineering or equivalent with 12+ years of working experience and 5+ years of full-time system engineering experience in High voltage battery and power system, including some of the following: Charging, Battery pack, BMS, Power distribution, etc
- 3+ year’s experience in leading the system engineering for program and 3+ years’ management experience
- Hands-on system engineering experience in both prototype and high volume production HV battery system and power systems
- Strong Engineering fundamentals in systematic knowledge, analysis including but not limited to technical schematic, functional diagram, engineering specification
- Knowledge of safety analysis and functional safety both quantitative and qualitatively.
- Working knowledge on battery technology and BMS
- Familiarity in full product development cycle
- Experience in testing and validation development including instrumenting, data acquisition and documenting and analyzing results
Desired:
- Aviation or Automotive industry experience
- Experience with electrical powertrain systems
- Experience with DO-311A, DO-160, DO-178C, DO-254, DO-160G, etc
- Experience with APR4761, APR4754
- Knowledge of FAA, EASA regulation and guidance
$184,824 - $217,440 a year
