About the Role


We are looking for a Social Media Growth Manager to drive our presence on Instagram and TikTok, growing our following to 100,000 by July 1, 2024. This role is for someone who knows how to 

move fast, create viral content, and deeply connect with teen audiences.

 You should be passionate about mental health, highly creative, and relentlessly data-driven in testing and iterating on content that resonates.

Responsibilities


  • Content Creation & Strategy – Develop and execute a content plan that rapidly grows our TikTok and Instagram following, making Somethings the definitive teen mental health brand.
  • Trend Spotting & Real-Time Content – Be deeply plugged into social media trends, quickly identifying opportunities to jump on viral moments before they pass.
  • Audience Engagement – Foster a strong community through active engagement, responding to comments, and building relationships with our audience.
  • Iterative Testing & Analytics – Take a data-driven approach to content, tracking what works, running experiments, and constantly optimizing for growth.
  • Brand Storytelling – Craft compelling narratives that make mental health engaging, relatable, and aspirational for young people.
  • Influencer & Creator Collaboration – Partner with influencers and creators who align with our mission to amplify our reach.

  • Proven Social Media Growth – You’ve grown an account to 10K+ followers before and understand how to scale an audience quickly.
  • Mental Health & Wellness Enthusiast – You’re passionate about mental health and love talking about wellness in a way that resonates with teens.
  • Highly Plugged In – You live and breathe social media, always knowing what’s trending and how to creatively jump in before it’s overplayed.
  • Creative & Fast-Paced – You’re full of ideas, move fast, and aren’t afraid to test things to see what sticks.
  • Data-Driven & Iterative – You track performance religiously, refining your approach based on what works and what doesn’t.
  • Excellent Communicator – You can clearly articulate your content strategy, why it works, and how you plan to grow engagement.
  • Relatable to Young Teen Girls – You have a pulse on what teen girls care about and can craft content that feels natural and inspiring to them.

Why Now For Somethings?


Somethings is poised to be a first mover in the space of scaled peer support as much of mental health care moves towards Peers.

  • Teen mental health still remains a massive issue. Nearly 40% of teens in the U.S. still struggle with a mental health concern, 20% have had a major depressive episode in the last year, and 10% have attempted suicide in the last year.
  • As of January 2025, Peers are now included in FUH and FUM HEDIS measures.
  • SAMHSA released revised guidance around EPSDT and continued to encourage states to utilized Peer Supporters.
  • Renewed MHPEA reaffirmed the requirements for states and plans to provide adequate mental health services.
  • The White House continues to push Peer Support as a solution to the nations mental health challenges.
