Responsibilities:
- Prepare structural fabrication projects for installation at customer facilities
- Enforce and endorse OSHS, Customer safety standards.
- Fill out daily Pre-task plan (PTP).
- Perform daily equipment inspections for all equipment being used on the job site.
- Analyze scope, prints, and project requirements to determine appropriate welding techniques.
- Assist in determining site layout, fabrication, and project installation method
- Install project while overseeing a fabrication team with limited to no on-site supervision
- Complete projects while maintaining compliance with codes, specifications, and drawings
- Assist in the training, development, and mentoring of other Fabricators / Apprentices.
- Monitor and track working hours, material usage, and equipment usage.
- Review and/or inspect completed projects for adherence to quality standards
- Monitor and enforce company guidelines and policies
- Manage work site organization and cleanliness.
- Submit daily work tickets via an in-house data management system
Requirements:
- 5 or more years of welding and fabrication experience
- 3 or more years of experience as a working Foreman on installation projects
- Proficient in both MIG and ARC welding processes
- Familiarity with other welding processes is preferred but not required
- Experience fabricating and installing structural steel projects including but not limited to: mezzanines, catwalks, handrails, and equipment platforms
- Proficient in blueprint/shop drawing reading and interpretation
- Capable of working independently from prints and drawings
- Confident in operating overhead cranes, mobile cranes, forklifts, and other related heavy equipment
- Applicable welding certifications preferred but not required.
- A chauffeur’s license, CDL A or B would be a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and/or operate scissor/boom lifts while working at height.
- Work in permit & non-permit required confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment.
- Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 50 pounds regularly/occasionally
- Must be able to respond quickly to auditory alarms, visual signals, or other effective means to communicate hazards
- Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- Must be able to work in cold/hot environments.
- Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain.
