Job Summary:


As Director of Finance, M&A Partner Development, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of our organization through strategic mergers and acquisitions, otherwise known as our Partner Development efforts. The business has reached a point where it must enhance and further professionalize its Partner Development Finance function and take concrete steps towards maximizing its performance. The Company’s leadership and its private equity sponsors require a strategic business partner who can help them execute their investment thesis, a large part of which includes both value-accretive tuck-in opportunities and larger / transformative acquisitions.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual who is a seasoned finance and/or M&A professional looking to make an impact on a rapidly growing organization and help advance it to the next level.The ideal candidate will lead critical aspects of the Partner Development process including target valuations, synergies underwriting, financial due diligence, and internal performance reporting. This role reports to the Chief of Staff and requires close partnership with the Company’s CEO, CFO, and M&A Principal, as well as the Board of Directors. This role requires strong analytical and critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to foster collaboration throughout various parts of the organization. A background in corporate finance or accounting is essential, with experience in mergers and acquisitions highly preferred.

Essential Job Functions for this role include:


•         Lead the Partner Development Finance function and serve as a critical thought partner to company leadership, including the CEO, CFO, and head of Partner Development. Serve as a leader in the responsible stewardship of our investors’ capital and in how we choose to deploy such capital across various acquisition opportunities•         Analyze target financial statements and operational data, CIMs, and other qualitative or strategic considerations to build valuation models and inform recommendations to company leadership and the Board on optimal deal structures for acquisition targets•         Participate in management meetings and lead financial due diligence calls with prospective sellers and investment bankers to better understand the various risks and opportunities that accompany specific deals.

Collaborate with company leadership and the Partner Development team to determine overall risk appetite and conviction in acquisition targets•         Direct our third-party advisors and consultants in completing quality of earnings reports to evaluate reported and adjusted seller financials, and identify potential revenue or cost synergies that impact deal economics•         Coordinate with finance, legal, and the deal team leaders on pre-LOI and confirmatory diligence workflows to ensure a smooth and efficient path-to-close •         Help direct certain post-merger integration processes to track acquisition performance as well as the realization of identified revenue and cost synergies•         Maintain internal reporting packages utilized by company leadership and the Board of Directors to evaluate past performance and inform future strategic decisions•         Assist with company-wide strategic planning processes to budget and forecast performance targets and key business assumptions with appropriate financial rigor•         Improve the quality of data and facilitate enhanced data-driven decision-making within the Partner Development function through analyses of past transactions and targets, current pipeline and operational data, and by utilizing market information and feedback obtained from external sources•         Conduct market research and evaluate industry trends to drive innovation around the Company’s Partner Development strategies and operating model to improve overall effectiveness and maintain strategic advantages

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


•         Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree encouraged•         At least 4 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 2 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or other corporate finance roles with direct exposure to mergers and acquisitions•         Candidates with experience in the financial services industry and familiarity with the independent RIA landscape (or other highly acquisitive businesses) an added plus•         Strong knowledge of financial accounting, purchase price accounting, and company valuation principles including important drivers of relative and intrinsic valuation methodologies•         Analytical mindset and extreme attention to detail, with the ability to conduct comprehensive due diligence and financial analysis•         One with exceptional judgment and creative problem-solving skills who is confident in expressing their point of view, and can articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively•         Collaborative individuals who approach others in a tactful manner, react well under pressure, and treats others with respect regardless of their status or position•         Hands-on leader willing to work in the details, but one who is also able to step back and consider the big picture•         A can-do attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, manage multiple priorities effectively, and follow through on organizational commitments•         Demonstrated technical competencies in Microsoft Office suite of products (must be an Excel expert)

Work Schedule:


This professional role requires availability during standard business hours of Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM.  At times, the role may have early or late hours to meet business tasks and deadlines for external and internal clients across multiple time zones.   Travel required up to 20%

Working Conditions:


Professional office environment, daytime hours, working inside, standing, and sitting, will be assigned to a workstation, no heavy lifting over 10 lbs.
