Facility Compliance Specialist

JOB SUMMARY:


The Facility Compliance Specialist is responsible for building policy, procedure, and compliant practices to ensure that C3 Operations are operating in compliance with state and local ordinances, rules and regulations.

JOB DUTIES:


  • Ensure facility operations, policies, and procedures are in line with state and local compliance.
  • Input as needed and monitor all data in the state required cannabis tracking system (METRC) and support operations with critical tracking system issues.
  • Analyze and report any discrepancies to the appropriate key stakeholder and coordinate and monitor corrective and preventative action plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to create and maintain compliance checklists for each department.
  • Conduct routine internal audits to ensure all departments' activities are accurately reflected.
  • Work closely with Director of Operations, Operations Manager, Cultivation Manager, Post-Production Manager, Lab Manager, and Sales Team to ensure accuracy of reports, inventory, and volume of product.
  • Be the primary point of contact for all external audits; follow up on any outstanding items and facilitate corrective action to ensure completion.
  • Assist Operations team with Product Testing submissions.
  • Stay current with state and local laws pertaining to operations and ensure compliance with such laws; update compliance documentation and processes as regulations and laws change.
  • Continuously educate all employees on state and local laws and ensure all processes and procedures align with those governances.
  • Assist with implementation and execution of trainings for company employees and create training manuals that align with company SOPs.
  • Identify issues, analyze current SOPs, and provide suggestions and guidance to ensure the company maintains the highest level of compliance with local and state laws.
  • Ensure safety data sheet (SDS) is current with materials being used in the facility and compliant with law changes.
  • Regularly correspond with METRC and regulatory bodies to seek guidance on law interpretation.
  • Conduct METRC trainings for any new users.
  • Regularly monitor and submit monthly and semi-annual Cultivation wastewater reporting to the local municipality pursuant to the issued industrial permit.

KEY INTERACTIONS:


  • Partner with the Facility Compliance Manager to delegate operational compliance tasks to the on-site Compliance Technician.
  • Assist the Facility Compliance Manager in tracking progress and completion of delegated tasks given to the on-site Compliance Technician.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Facility Compliance Manager and on-site Compliance Technician to streamline communication, training, and completion of job duties.
  • Partner with Operations and Marketing teams and serve as the primary project manager for facility METRC item submission between the Cultivation and Manufacturing METRC licenses.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


  • 2+ years of experience in compliance or quality control.
  • Cannabis industry experience is preferred, but not required.

  • Ability to use and manage METRC; experience using METRC preferred.

  • Microsoft efficient, with ability to learn new software.
  • Ability to read and understand laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
  • Excellent organization skills, ability to develop and implement operational best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships with internal and external contacts.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately with regulating bodies.

  • High attention to detail, and experience inputting and reporting on high volumes of data.
  • Ability to travel to multiple sites, both within Missouri and out of state on a regular basis.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a background check.
  • Must be able to obtain & maintain required state licenses based on work location.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • Employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk or hear; the employee is regularly required to use hands or fingers to, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms.
  • Employee is occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds; the employee is frequently required to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Employee is occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts; the employee is frequently required to work in wet or humid conditions (non-weather).
  • Employee is frequently required to travel in between (2) operational sites in O'Fallon, MO and St. Louis, MO.
