We are looking for a highly motivated, well rounded technical expert and customer-obsessed  Solutions Architect to join our team. The Solutions Architect will play a critical role in bridging potential clients with various cross-functional teams in PayMongo (such as but not limited to product and engineering and commercial, operations and governance) to win new business and onboard new clients.  The Solutions Architect will be at the forefront of our customer engagements—demonstrating product capabilities, designing tailored solutions, and ensuring seamless implementations.

You will guide clients from initial discovery and pre-sales discussions through successful onboarding and adoption. You will work with cross-functional teams (Commercial, Product, Engineering, Governance, Operations) to develop rapid prototypes, craft proof-of-concept (PoC) demos, and manage client relationships to ensure the highest levels of satisfaction.

You will be responsible for:


  • Technical Pre-sales and Solutions Consulting. In collaboration with the Commercial team, engage with prospective clients to understand their business challenges, technical requirements, and desired outcomes. Deliver compelling product demonstrations, technical presentations, workshops and/or customized proposals that showcase value of our solutions and ROI.
  • Solutions Design and Architecture. Develop and propose comprehensive solutions that address client needs, including system architecture diagrams, integration plans, and cost estimates, incorporating 3rd-party integrations and client infrastructure. Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, product, etc.) to ensure feasibility and alignment with product roadmap. Ensure solutions are robust, scalable, secure, and align with industry best practices and compliance regulations. Draft technical documentation (e.g., high-level design docs, architecture diagrams) for internal and client-facing use.
  • Rapid Prototyping. Develop and deliver compelling proof-of-concept (POC) prototypes to demonstrate the functionality and value of our solutions in a client-specific context. This may involve coding, scripting, and integrating with third-party systems.
  • Technical Sales Support: Provide technical expertise and support to the sales team throughout the sales cycle, including responding to RFPs/RFIs, creating technical proposals, supporting vendor accreditation processes and overcoming technical objections.
  • Client Onboarding. Collaborate with the client and internal teams (operations and/or support) to ensure a smooth and successful transition. Manage the technical aspects of onboarding new clients, including solution implementation, system integration, and user training..
  • Relationship Management. Build and maintain strong relationships with key technical stakeholders at client organizations. Act as a trusted advisor and advocate for their needs.  Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities by proactively recommending enhancements or new solutions.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement. Manage cross-functional collaboration to ensure timely, successful implementations and that client feedback is incorporated into product roadmaps.
  • Market Intelligence. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies in the fintech space. Provide feedback to product and engineering teams to help shape the future direction of our offerings.
  • Documentation. Create and maintain high-quality documentation, including solution designs, technical specifications, and best practices.

You may be a fit if:


  • You have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • You have 5+ years of experience as a Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, or similar technical role, preferably in the financial technology industry with a proven track record of successfully closing deals and onboarding new clients.
  • You have a demonstrated track record of meeting revenue targets that comes with a technical pre-sales function
  • You have strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • You have prior experience with rapid prototyping tools, agile methodologies, and proof-of-concept development.
  • You have deep understanding of our tech stack
  • You have strong knowledge of FinTech, SaaS, or Banking-as-a-Service solutions (payments, digital banking, API-driven financial services, etc.)
  • You have excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • You have strong relationship-building skills, with a track record of managing client expectations and delivering solutions on time.
  • You demonstrate excellent organizational skills to handle multiple accounts, projects, and priorities concurrently.
  • You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • You have hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), API integrations, and microservices architecture.
  • You are familiar with compliance and security requirements in financial services (e.g., PCI, SOC 2, GDPR).
  • You have prior experience in enterprise-level financial institutions or fintech start-ups.
  • You have strong knowledge of DevOps processes and CI/CD pipelines.
