As the Chief Marketing Officerreporting to our Chief Executive Officer at 1stDibs, you will be the visionary leader shaping and executing our marketing strategies, driving customer engagement and growth, and building brand awareness for the leading e-commerce marketplace for extraordinary design. 

What You Will Do


  • Lead the development and execution of the company’s marketing strategy to drive demand generation and brand awareness.
  • Lead an experienced marketing team, fostering a collaborative and creative environment that encourages innovation and growth.
  • Oversee our integrated marketing, social media, influencer, editorial, creative, and public relations strategies.
  • Partner and implement with cross-functional stakeholders of paid, partnerships, promotions, and email marketing functions, ensuring a cohesive and effective marketing mix.
  • Leverage our existing community of sellers, buyers, and visitors to expand our brand awareness and trust.
  • Work closely with product development, sales, and other departments to align marketing strategies with business objectives, ensuring consistent messaging and a unified approach.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to optimize marketing campaigns, improve ROI, and measure success.
  • Engage with customers to understand their challenges and apply insights to impactful marketing campaigns.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and best practices, continually evolving marketing tactics and strategies to maintain a competitive edge.

Who You Are


  • You are passionate about the 1stDibs core purpose: to enrich lives with the extraordinary by connecting design lovers across the globe.
  • You are deeply engaged in our market and conversant with our merchandise and seller and buyer communities. 
  • You bring 15+ years of progressive experience in consumer marketing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in a fast-paced, high-growth e-commerce business.
  • You have expertise in digital marketing, brand development, content creation, and social media strategies.
  • You have a proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies that drive business growth.
  • You have experience succeeding in a product-driven technology company environment. 
  • You take an entrepreneurial approach to your work, prioritizing and executing initiatives efficiently and effectively, and know how to make a lasting impact with limited resources.
  • You bring strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and manage a team of marketing professionals.
  • You leverage excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present ideas to executive leadership and our board of directors.
  • You bring a deep understanding of data-driven marketing analytics, market research, and consumer behavior.
  • You are a team player who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and values the input and collaboration of others.

Our overall compensation package is made of several parts, base compensation being one of them. At 1stDibs we value and are proud of our culture, innovation, professional development and training workshops, trust and giving back to the community.  Equity, a comprehensive benefits package, and incentive (IF APPLICABLE)  are all are components of your total compensation package.  Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.Tri-State Pay Range$300,000—$325,000 USD
