Mobile Security Engineer


We are seeking an experienced

Mobile Security Engineer, 


for Kyrus-SIXGEN, to provide critical support to our federal customers.  In this role, you will use your knowledge of Android APK reverse engineering, static and dynamic analysis of Android apps, and analysis of forensic artifacts left on Android devices to assess the security of Android mobile apps.The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, experience with reverse engineering and tools, and is proficient in Python or C.This position is located

in either Sterling, VA or Denver, CO;


Kyrus-SIXGEN supports cyber and intelligence missions by serving government and commercial organizations as they overcome global cybersecurity challenges. Our highly skilled operators conduct research and assessments based on real-world threats. We simulate adversaries and malicious actors to report details and actionable findings on critical assets and infrastructures. Our program planners advise mission owners to bring rapid solutions to intelligence mission leaders. Using innovative processes, tools, and techniques, we predict and overcome cybersecurity vulnerabilities.

Core Responsibilities:


  • Perform static and dynamic analysis of mobile applications
  • Capture, triage, and analyze network packet captures
  • Examine on-disk artifacts that apps leave behind
  • Write custom tools in Python or C
  • Write clear and precise technical reports to document findings 

Required Skills and Experience:


  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security, or other technical degree or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of experience
  • Experience with industry standard reverse engineering tools such as jadx, Frida, apktool, and IDA Pro or Ghidra
  • An understanding of anti-RE techniques such as ProGuard 
  • Knowledge of standard TCP/IP protocols, experience with Wireshark or comparable tools
  • Knowledge of industry standard cryptographic primitives
  • Experience developing software with Python and/or C is desirable
  • Prior application development experience is desirable
