Summary


The Supervisor of Detox is a Certified AOD Counselor who will provide clinical supervision to interns and counselors. This role oversees administrative tasks, scheduling, monitors work performance, writes performance reviews, and workflows for the detox program. This position maintains a caseload and provides individual recovery sessions, group sessions, and crisis intervention for clients in inpatient detox treatment aimed at sobriety and/or harm reduction and improving the client’s capacity to attain and sustain income and housing.

  The supervisor will attend and support Case Conferencing and Multidisciplinary meetings to provide therapeutic interventions and recommendations to the appropriate level of care.

Essential Functions


  • Assist the Program Manager with day-to-day operations. Maintain staff productivity and monitor client records for contract compliance, treatment fidelity, and quality improvement.

·        AOD Assessments, individual counseling, group counseling, treatment planning, and crisis intervention as needed. Monitor client progress and modifies treatment plans as needed. 

  • Coordinate and manage agency referrals and the referral process
  • Prepares curriculum materials & provides group treatment sessions for clients.
  • Completes timely clinical documentation and participates in weekly peer review and multidisciplinary approach to services (MAS) meetings.  
  • Coordinate with social and medical agencies, healthcare providers and community outreach programs to provide clients with needed services.

·        Complete continuing education courses (CEs) to maintain Counselor certification and stay up to date on the latest AOD Counseling, MAT and 42 CFR Part 2 (confidentiality) practices.

  • Trains and supervises entry-level counselors, interns, and RADTs. May provide individual clinical supervision to interns and uncertified counselors. 
  • Provide client service coordination/case management including treatment team to assist clients in meeting basic needs and symptom management. 
  • Shift coverage including part of the on-call team
  • On time completion of assigned training and policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s or working towards a Degree in Addiction Counseling, Psychology or related field.
  • Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (e.g. CCAPP, CDAP, CATC). Licensed Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselor (LAADC) or Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS).
  • At least 3 years counseling experience with clients experiencing homelessness, low income, or at-risk population.  
  • At least 1 year of clinical supervision experience –may be working towards CCS 

·        Good time management skills.

  • Experience working with the DMC ODS system of care
  • Basic user of MS Office and have experience in electronic health record system.

·        CPR certified (can be obtained after hire)

  • Participate in an annual Tuberculosis screening and/or other screenings when necessary. Reasonable accommodation may be granted where appropriate.
