BitPay is in search of an experienced Senior Software Developer to join our backend team. As a key member, you'll play an important role in crafting new products, driving innovation, and staying ahead of technological advancements. This is a remote position; however, candidates must reside within the Eastern Time (EST) or Central Time (CST) zones to facilitate effective collaboration with the majority of the development team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop scalable and maintainable projects and systems using Node.js and MongoDB
- Collaborate with various teams and departments to build out key features and products for our customers as well as internal tooling
- Ensure high code quality through functional testing, unit and integration testing, code reviews, and in-depth documentation
- Address scalability, reliability, and logging challenges during development phases
- Mentor and guide other developers, fostering growth within the team
- Stay updated on new technologies to keep the team innovative and competitive
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Expert-Level proficiency in Node.js and MongoDB
- Experience building production level APIs
- Strong desire for continuous learning and improvement of solutions, systems, and processes
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality software projects in professional environments
- Passion for your craft, a drive for progress, and a commitment to excellence
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, with a track record of impressive projects
- A portfolio of projects i.e. GitHub
Preferred:
- Experience working with EVM and/or UTXO blockchains
- Passion for cryptocurrency as a payments system
- Experience with GraphQL
