Your Impact
You will drive the implementation of new testing frameworks and third-party tools to automate testing for DedroneTracker.AI software platform. You will collaborate with developers, DevOps, and QA engineers to build and maintain test automation for a cloud-based, distributed Kubernetes application. You will develop and maintain Python-based automation scripts to support functional, regression, and performance testing. You will design and execute performance, load, and stress testing scenarios to evaluate system stability and scalability.
You will automate data simulation to replicate real-world traffic and operational conditions over extended periods. You will integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast feedback and reliability. You will provide technical leadership and mentorship within the QA team, facilitating knowledge sharing and best practices. You will continuously research and evaluate new testing methodologies and tools to improve overall software quality, ultimately ensuring minimal post-release defects.
What You’ll Do

Reports to:
Director of Quality Engineering.
- You'll be working and tracking identified issues in a SCRUM-based issue tracking system.
- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts for functional, performance, and regression testing.
- Research and adopt new tools and frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Locust, k6.io) to improve test automation capabilities.
- Partner with UI testers and QA engineers to implement realistic stress and load tests, tracking performance metrics over time.
- Collaborate with DevOps to set up and maintain test environments and integrate automation into Kubernetes workflows.
- Maintain and enhance existing Python-based test automation tooling to support ongoing product evolution.
- Develop and execute API automation tests using tools like Postman to validate API functionality and performance.
- Act as a technical resource within the QA team, supporting colleagues in implementing and troubleshooting automated testing solutions.
- Advocate for testability in system design and development processes, influencing best practices across teams.
- Ensure seamless integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) for rapid and reliable software delivery.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in automated testing, ideally as a Software Developer in Test or similar role.
- Strong Python coding skills for test automation and tooling. Proficiency with test automation frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Selenium) and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS).
- Familiarity with performance testing tools (e.g., Locust, JMeter, Gatling) and observability solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills in complex software environments.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
